Apparently, that is the mind-boggling amount that Ramesh Taurani has offered Salman Khan to sign his next film
With his recent record at the box office, looks like Salman Khan’s career is on an all-time high. Buzz is that there is already a queue of filmmakers waiting at Sallu’s door to sign him for their upcoming films.
We have heard that filmmaker Ramesh Taurani of Tips is apparently heading the pack and has offered a whopping amount of Rs 100 crore to Salman to sign the production house’s next film. Interestingly, if their deal goes through, Salman will become the highest paid actor in Bollywood!
Our source says, “As expected Ek Tha Tiger has sent the cash registers ringing and many filmmakers have been seen visiting Salman’s residence to make a film with him. However, Taurani, who has earlier worked with Salman and has had him signed since the past couple of years, is very keen that they do a film together.
A couple of days back, he met Salman and offered him Rs 100 crore for a film. Taurani is aware that the actor’s last three films have done business near to Rs 150 crore net and that’s why he is ready to take the gamble.”
However, Taurani denies to us that he has offered Rs 100 crore to Salman and states, “Salman is already signed with me and this is not the right figure. He will be doing a film in 2013 with us and details are being worked out.” Our source added, “Salman’s last three films Dabangg (Rs 145 crore), Ready (Rs 124 crore) and Bodyguard (Rs 149 crore) have done huge business. The net collections also come from satellite, music rights and home video as well.”
Salman Khan's fourth consecutive blockbuster Ek Tha Tiger earned a record breaking Rs 32 crores on opening day and has now achieved another milestone. The Kabir Khan-directed movie has fetched over Rs 100 crores in just five days, after it was released on August 15.
Salman's younger sister Arpita Khan broke the news on Twitter: "Total 100.16 C in 5 days.. And the TIGER ROARS! Tiger Tiger Tiger."
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh, who called the film's opening collection "beyond historic," also tweeted: "#EkThaTiger hits a ton, @BeingSalmanKhan 's 4th century. "
Ek Tha Tiger, co-starring Katrina Kaif, is the fourth of Salman's films to make it to the elite "Rs 100 crore club" after Dabangg, Ready and Bodyguard.
The romantic thriller released on Independence Day (August 15). It reportedly cost Rs. 50 crores to make. Ek Tha Tiger is director Kabir Khan's third collaboration with Yash Raj Films after Kabul Express in 2006 and New York in 2009.
It is Salman's first Yash Raj film and Katrina's second. Katrina appeared in New York and has two other Yash Raj films coming up - Dhoom: 3 with Aamir Khan and an untitled film with Shah Rukh Khan.
Ek Tha Tiger tells the story of a Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) officer, played by Salman, and the turmoil that ensues when he falls in love with Katrina's character.
The story is written by Aditya Chopra and the film's screenplay has been co-written by Kabir Khan and well-known journalist-turned-lyricist-writer Neelesh Misra. (With IANS inputs)
After his Tere Naam hair do, Dabangg glasses, Being Human T-shirts and turquoise bracelet, the latest Salman Khan style statement to become the rage is his checkered black and white keffiyeh from Ek Tha Tiger. The streets are full of the popular accessory both in stores and on boys and
girls, and the way he drapes them is the way young fans are doing it, too.
“Every young lad wants to own one now. Earlier, we used to stock them in various colours but now, the black-and-white ones have started to fly off shelves,” says a shopkeeper at Janpath. “It looks rugged, masculine yet, sexy. People like the understated style,” says designer Payal Jain.
The film’s director Kabir Khan reveals how the scarf became a part of the film: “It came into the picture once I set the opening scene of the film in Iraq. The people there wear it and also, it’s a personal favourite. The credit for draping it stylishly goes to Salman and his stylist for the movie designer Ashley Rebello.” These are priced anywhere between Rs.50-Rs.500 depending on store and design.
Salman Khan was in Dubai for the launch of his merchandise of his charitable cloth line Being Human. During the press conference in Dubai the actor was asked about Aamir Khan and his first television show, Satyamev Jayate. And the actor couldn't stop praising his friend.
Salman appreciates Aamir's issue-based show and feels that it can bring change in society. "I am proud of Aamir. He is doing the best job through his show", said Salman when asked about Aamir Khan's show.
After watching yesterday's episode which was about domestic violence, Salman praised Aamir. "Wah yaar Aamir Ahan, teeluu (Aamir's character name in Andaz Apna Apna) ne toh kamaal kar dikha ya, yaar ab jisko hindi nahi aati vo zara pls isko translate karva lena, Thank you," wrote Salman on his micro blogging site.
Salman and Aamir are good friends and appreciate each other for their work. It can be recalled that Aamir spoke about Salman's show Dus Ka Dum during the press conference of Satyameva Jayate.
If all goes well, Mr India 2, the follow up to Shekhar Kapur’s path-breaking sci-fi flick should hit the theatres in 2014
There has been a great amount of speculation about the much-anticipated sequel to the 1987 hit Mr India, directed by Shekhar Kapoor. The latest news about the new film is that producer Boney Kapoor has zeroed in on his son Arjun Kapoor to play the lead role. The bigger and more surprising piece of information is that Salman Khan is being considered to play the iconic villain Mogambo, made famous by Amrish Puri’s superb performance and his dialogue ‘Mogambo kush hua’.
This news comes in the wake of rumours that when Boney Kapoor approached Sallu to promote his son Arjun on Twitter, he refused. So it would be quite interesting to wait and watch if Salman finally signs on the dotted line.
The special effects for Mr India 2 will be in keeping with international standards and the approximate budget for the movie is slated to be somewhere around Rs 150 crore. The film will be released in 3D across theatres a couple of years from now. There is no word coming down the grapevine about who will direct the sequel.
So will the original lead actors of the sci-fi flick find a place in part two? Anil Kapoor says that he is not sure if he’ll be cast in the second edition. But when we asked him if Sridevi would play a role in Mr India 2, he said, “When Boney Kapoor is producing the film, how can Sridevi not be in it!” Anil smiled, and our guess is that the actor was just joking. We’ll probably have to pose the same question to Boney!
Salman Khan is reportedly irked with Sonakshi Sinha. Rumour has it that Sonakshi's loudmouth approach is the reason behind his anger.
Sallu is not appreciative of Sonakshi talking about his movies behind his back. Sonakshi is playing the lead opposite Salman in Dabangg 2 while she is cast opposite Ajay Devgn in Son of Sardar.
The actress is busy juggling from one set to another and has been delving the details of one project to another. Since Salman believes in maintaining secrecy about his future projects, Sonakshi's behaviour has annoyed him.
While chatting with her staff on the sets of SOS, Sonakshi reportedly spoke about Dabangg 2, which apparently did not go down too well with Salman.
Salman is dead against discussing the project unless it's complete and does not want any of his costars talking about it before the shooting is complete.
He always gives strict instructions to his production unit to be careful about not leaking anything about the film.
When it comes to work, there are certain rules which most big actors follow. Dabangg 2 will release in December this year while Son of Sardar will release in November.
If sources are to be believed, we would soon be seeing a sequel to another hit movie from actor Salman Khan. Speculation has it that the actor is all eager to act in a sequel to his 2007 movie, ‘Partner’.
It had earlier been learnt that David Dhawan had several sequels of ‘Partner’ in mind, but Salman wasn’t satisfied with any of the scripts. However, seems like Salman has finally given his much-awaited nod. The movie, if the grapevine is to be trusted, goes on floors next year.
So now that Salman is already shooting for his ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ with ex-flame Katrina, will we see the sizzling two on screen for the sequel of ‘Partner’ as well?
Buzz has it that Katrina Kaif will no longer be seen in the sequel of ‘Partner’, and Dhawan has supposedly roped in Zarine instead. While Dhawan has still not given the green signal yet, but it is expected that he will do so soon.
While half the world seems to be waiting for Salman Khan to get married, the 46-year-young superstar seems to be in no hurry to get hitched. Moreover, he's recently been in news for putting out a perception that he doesn't wish to marry at all. Now that's a big dampener, considering he's one of the most eligible bachelors in the industry.
"Marry Salman Khan is a dream thousands of girls live with. Salman has said it earlier that he believes in the institution of marriage, so I don't think he wouldn't marry at all. His much-discussed recent comments might have been exaggerated by the media, or said in jest," analyses Bollywood PR specialist Dale Bhagwagar.
"But if Salman really decides to stay single, the least he can do is start donating sperms, so that his indomitable legacy can be carried forward," quips the publicist. "Think about it. There are so many girls ready to marry Salman Khan! In that case, there might just be double the number, who'd seek children from him, in case he gets into sperm donation mood," he adds.
We're not sure if Dale is serious or joking! But technicalities and legalities apart, this sure sounds like a fabulous idea. Just imagine! There could be a whole Salman Khan clan in a few years from now! A whole lot of kids... baby Salman Khans! Now now! We know what you are thinking! That we've got too carried away by the Vicky Donor wave or just gone bonkers! Lol! Maybe you are correct. We need to stop right here.
Superstar Salman Khan, known for his distinct dance steps, says his moves in Dabangg 2 song "Seeti baja ke" will outdo the choreography of all his previous hit numbers.
"I'll dance so much in this song that I'll tell everyone what dancing is. 'Jalwa' (Wanted) is nothing, just see how good I'll dance in this song," the 46-year-old said in Mumbai.
In recent times, Salman has shown his 'jalwa' in songs like Dhinka chika, Munni badnaam, Humka peeni hai and Character dheela.
While he has asked fans to watch out for his new number, Salman is all praise for his brother Arbaaz Khan, who turns director with Dabangg 2.
"He is doing a very good job, we are really happy that Arbaaz is directing Dabangg 2. He is doing a superb job and when you see the film, he'll become a very big director," said Salman, who reprises his role of police inspector Chulbul Pandey in the sequel of Dabangg.
Dabangg 2, which will see Salman being paired with Sonakshi Sinha once again, is slated for release Dec 21.
